The Story of Al's Burger Shack
Our mission is to provide local, fresh, sustainable food and drink at an affordable price. Our all natural, hormone and antibiotic free beef is from North Carolina pasture raised cattle. These cows graze on over 200 acres of rotating pasture in Mooresville, NC near Lake Norman. Our milk and custard comes from Mapleview Farms, our eggs from Latta Farms in Hillsborough, craft beers brewed in North Carolina, and produce from as many local farmers as possible. We make all of our specialty toppings and dressings in the Shack. The “Pig” restaurant in Chapel Hill will make a ¼ lb. all pork dog that we will serve topped with chow-chow from Winston Salem, and spicy sweet mustard from Sylva, NC. “Pig” has also agreed to sell us their all natural bacon pieces for our bacon & onion jam. Keeping it REAL and REAL close!
We don’t stop there. We use the same local and sustainable principle when it came to the remodel of the Shack. Almost 100% of the interior was recycled from the existing space, our picnic tables and bar tops are made from reclaimed wood and some of the bricks for the patio steps are over 200 years old.
